WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I CALL
What happens when someone calls the Toll Free On Call Help Line?
After you will hear the recorded message, please leave your first name and your phone number. In response, one of our Case Managers, either Susan Ash Ghiglieri or Paul Nockles, will return your call within 24 hours. In this initial conversation the Case Manager will assess your specific needs and determine which of the Whale Foundation services you may want to utilize.
Following the assessment, you may be referred to a specialist such as a counselor, M.D. or massage therapist. We have both male and female providers. We can provide counseling by phone, and, of course, work around river schedules.
If you think depression, substance abuse, or some other physical or mental concern are preventing you from fully enjoying your life, or if you have concerns about transitioning from guiding to another occupation, or simply need a listening ear to help you sort through your options, call our
Toll-Free Help Line: 877-44WHALE (1-877-449-4253).
If you are experiencing an immediate emergency, please call 911.
